Teacher Training & Advanced Yoga Studies 2010–2011

Enrollment for the 150-hour Advanced Yoga Studies and the 300-hour Teacher Training Program is now open.

Garden of Yoga is known for its tradition of offering students a sound, rewarding and challenging learning experience. Now evolved into the Bhavana Institute for Yoga and Ayurveda, we are formalizing the educational process.

The Yoga program is based on the classical teaching of the Astanga Yoga (8 limbed system) in the tradition of Sage Patanjali, the teachings of the Himalayan masters and the teachings of the Vedas. Each instructor relies on their own lineage and tradition for their teaching methods.

The 150-hour Advanced Studies Yoga Program is designed as a way for students to continue to study in depth. You may already be teaching Yoga, or wish to deepen your knowledge of Yoga. Students enrolled in the 150-hour Advanced Studies Program will be exempt from, but may audit Art of Teaching classes. Students enrolled in the 150-hour Advanced Studies Program will also be exempt from Apprenticeship, Student Teaching and most Electives.

The classes offered in the 150-hour Advanced Yoga Studies Program qualify for Continuing Education hours for Yoga Alliance.

Our 2010-2011 300-hour Teacher Training Program is designed for people that have already completed a 200-hour teacher-training program. After completing the 300-hour program, you may either upgrade your RYT to 500-hour, or begin your process to apply for the Introductory 1 Level for the Iyengar Yoga National Association teacher certification process.

This program is unique and truly exceptional. It is designed to clarify and enhance your knowledge of Yoga. For teachers and sincere students of Yoga, the program will help you define and refine your knowledge and practice of Yoga.

Our program is in the form of adult education. We will meet one weekend a month for 10 months. Some additional time will be necessary for those going on for the 300-hour certification.

Bhavana Institute 200-hour Teacher Training Program begins September 2011.

The next 300-hour program for students wishing to qualify for the 500-hour certification will begin in September 2012.
